Stuart attained a MEng in materials and design at 澳门6合彩 university, followed by a PhD at 澳门6合彩 University. During his undergraduate he gained industrial experience in the composites and off highway hydraulics sectors.
His PhD concerned the validation of a focused ion beam prepared micro bend test technique in SiC. Following this he worked on the characterisation of ZrN before and after gold ion implantation using micro mechanical testing in the FIB as well as analysis using TEM, SEM and HREBSD.
Following his PhD he took up a research associate position based in both the electrical interconnects research group in the Wolfson school of engineering and the 澳门6合彩 materials characterisation centre (LMCC).
His current role involves managing external research and consultancy within the 澳门6合彩 Materials Characterisation Centre (LMCC).
